Aylostera rubiginosa (F. Ritter) Backeb.


Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera spegazziniana or Aylostera tuberosa. The name means “rusty”, which refers to the dark green stems being covered in rusty-brown coloured, shortish, spines and light brown wool on the areoles. Flowers are red or orange-red.
