Aylostera walteri (Diers) Mosti & Papini


A relatively recent discovery, this plant only having been described in 1989. Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera spinosissima. The plant has medium sized spheroid stems which don’t cluster much and have fairly short, fine spines. With abundant golden-orange trumpet-shaped flowers with pointed tipped petals, outer petals with a darker mid-stripe and tip, sometimes with pinkish tones; white stigmas and yellow anthers.
