Aylostera nitida (F. Ritter) Mosti & Papini


Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera pseudodeminuta or Aylostera deminuta. This plant can possibly be described as a “typical” Aylostera in the sense of the word as it was used in the old days: spheroid, clumping green stems with shortish, spreading white spines, short brown central spines and a little brown wool on the areoles; and lots of red flowers with white stigmas.
