Description

This plant was discovered by Walter Rausch in Tarija, Bolivia. Rausch described the original find as similar to WR483 (Aylostera raulii) from the same locality, but with a smaller form. There are at least three different plants in circulation with this number, and the number has been misapplied to A. froehlichiana, A. raullii, and A. ritteri. The reddish-pink-flowered plants listed here are regarded by Mosti et al. as the type plants of Aylostera gavazzii. Most of the impostors have orange or orange-red flowers.
