Aylostera spinosissima (Backeb.) Backeb., Backeb. & F. M. Knuth


Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera fiebrigii, as are many others. Also known under the name Aylostera (or Rebutia) archibuiningiana.

Fairly densely spined, this light green clumping globular species is characterised by its orange flowers with white stigmas and pale yellow stamens. Spines are not very long and brown, or at least with brown tips.
