Aylostera christinae (Rausch) Mosti & Papini

Regarded by many as a form of Aylostera steinmannii. Found to be distinct enough to be given specific status by Mosti & Papini (2011).

Quite densely spined, with yellowish spines, this orange-flowered plant tends to have larger, more spherical bodies than other A. steinmannii types, but can elongate with age.
