Description

When Friedrich Ritter discovered this plant north of Camargo, Nor Cinti, Chuquisaca, Bolivia in the 19950s he described it as Rebutia leucanthema var. cocciniflora, but then gave it the name A. melachlora a few years later. Pilbeam assigned it to Aylostera tarvitaensis in the 1970s, but really it is quite distinctive from that species. FR935 is the type plant and it is referred to here by the name Ritter gave it.
