Aylostera schatzliana (Rausch) Mosti & Papini

Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera albopectinata or A. heliosa, and can be difficult to tell apart from those, however DNA studies have shown that these are not particularly closely related plants. In appearance, similar to those species with small bodies; short, fine, whitish or yellowish spines arranged pectinately (comb-like), without much projection. The wool on the areoles is brown. The orange or reddish-orange flowers have pink outer petals, usually with a faint brown mid-stripe. Stamens are pale yellowish or whitish, stigma pale greenish.
