Aylostera parvula (Rausch) Mosti & Papini

Regarded by many as a form of Aylostera steinmannii, indeed originally described as such. Stated as being similar to A. brachyantha but more spiny with whitish spines (cf. A. brachyantha brownish spines) and larger orange-red flowers (cf. A. brachyantha small orange flowers). However plants have been found in nurseries labelled as both of these species with a variety of flower colours and sizes and spine colours. Found to be distinctive enough to be given specific status by Mosti & Papini (2011).

The description is here.
