Einzeln oder in kleinen Gruppen, kugelig, bis 30 mm Durchmesser, hellgrau-grün, mit fleischiger Wurzel, Rippen 11-12, gerade aufsteigend, flacher als beim Typus, durch Querfurchen in 3 mm lange Höcker ge-teilt, Areolen oval, 2 mm lang, hellbraunfilzig, Randdornen ca. 12, in 5 Paaren und je einer nach un¬ten und oben, 6-8 mm lang, anliegend bis spreizend, miteinander verflochten, glasig-weiß, Mitteldornen 0-1, bis 10 mm lang, glasig-weiß mit brauner Spitze. Blüte 50 mm lang und 40 mm Durchmesser, Fruchtknoten braunrot mit dunkelgrünen Schuppen, Röhre rosa mit grünen Schuppen, weißen Haaren und Borsten, äußere Blütenblätter violettrosa mit grünen Mittelstreifen, innere Blütenblätter rund und zersägt, orangerot, Schlund weißlich-rosa, bis zur Hälfte mit dem Grif¬fel verwachsen, Staubfäden weißlich-rosa, Griffel und Narben (6) grünlich-weiß.

Individually or in small groups, spherical, up to 30 mm in diameter, light grey-green, with fleshy root, ribs 11-12, straight rising, flatter than in the type, divided by transverse furrows in 3 mm long humps, areoles oval, 2 mm long, light brown-tipped, marginal spines approx. 12, in 5 pairs and one each at the bottom and top, 6-8 mm long, parallel to spreading, intertwined, glassy-white, middle spines 0-1, up to 10 mm long, vitreous white with brown tip. Flower 50 mm long and 40 mm in diameter, ovary brownish red with dark green scales, pink tube with green scales, white hair and bristles, outer petals purple pink with green median stripe, inner petals round and saw-edged, orange red, throat whitish-pink, up to half fused to the style, stamens whitish pink, style and stigmatic lobes (6) greenish-white.
