Description
While most of the plants we grow are happy in a neutral or slightly acidic substrate, there are a few species of cacti which, in habitat, grow in limestone or gypsum. This gives the soil a higher pH. Plants like Ariocarpus, Geohintonia, Turbinicarpus, Astrophytum, Gymnocactus, many Mammillaria, etc. may benefit from a little limestone mixed in with their potting compost.
If you would like a more complete list of which cacti typically grow in these basic soils please let me know.
This grit is simply ground limestone. There are no other additives. The grain size is quite small, nearer sand than gravel. Add a teaspoon to the pot mix when you repot.
500g bag.
