Aylostera gonjianii (Kiesling) Mosti & Papini

Regarded by some as a form of Aylostera einsteinii. It has flowers similar to A. einsteinii, being usually a pale yellow or orangish, although pale peach / pinkish occur; and occurs in the same region, but the ranges of the two do not overlap. The body is distinctive, small, cylindrical and branching, with comparatively tiny spines which don’t stick out. Found to be distinct enough to be given specific status by Mosti & Papini (2011).
